This is a great drink when you have a cold or flu. It is very warming and soothing for a cough or sore throat and can help to support the immune system.

Method

Bring 1 L of water to the boil and add:

  • 1 tbsp honey – Manuka honey is the  best as it is very antimicrobial
  • 2 tsp of fresh grated ginger
  • 1 lemon sliced – leave skin on
  • 1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp of the powder
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ¼ tsp of fresh chopped chilli

Boil for 1 minute. Allow to cool a bit and drink the warm tea throughout the day.
