I was a recent participant in this workshop. Many of us get poor neck and shoulder posture through long hours at the computer, driving around Sydney or long distance as no doubt some of you will be doing soon.  Hairdressers and musicians are the most affected due to being in fixed positions for long periods of time.  Forward neck or rounded shoulders puts a huge load on the neck vertebrae; your head is very heavy and for every 2.5m forward it puts an extra load onto the neck and surrounding muscles.  Some of us also grind our teeth, particularly at night plus the forward neck causes jamming at the TMJ and tension in several of the muscles around the TMJ. Stress from the day or dental work can also cause trauma in the area and the TMJ to tighten up. So, we worked in the jaw with surgical gloves and on the palate (roof of the mouth), plus surrounding neck muscles to release the tension in the jaw. A lot of stomach gurgling went on as this massage technique allows the body to realign through links with the nervous system.

So, if you want some work done on your neck in a very gentle way or the jaw/TMJ I have some good tools to help you.
