Did you know:

  • Once you hit 40, your connective tissue comprising skin, tendons, ligaments become less elastic and more prone to tearing e.g. Sprained ankles and shoulder tendon damage come to mind.
  •  A 2013 study by the University of Ontario showed that hip and shoulder joints move about 6 degrees less in any direction every decade from your mid 50s.
  • Less flexibility affects our posture and then breathing. Think of getting round shouldered over a computer or if you are naturally tall, this compresses the lungs making it harder to breath.
  • Declining flexibility can cause more aches and pains in our joints.
  • Also, lack of flexiibility in the back and hamstrings may indicate how stiff your artery walls are, leading to high blood pressure.
